Labour Day Report -- Louise Gibson, COPE 378
Our first annual Labour Day picnic was a huge success thanks to the hard work of our committee. Thank you so much to all of you for the hard work you put into organizing, planning and then showing up early to get it all up and running. The food was so good and the chefs so dedicated. It meant so much to see us as a Labour Council, come together to celebrate OUR DAY. A beautiful day, a beautiful spot, and beautiful people, it could not have been better. Let's do it again next year.
c) CLC Report -- no report
Camp Jubilee / Silver Lake -- Ronn Dunn read a thank you letter from the Gordon family for sending their boys to each camp. Their children, Erik and Riley, sent us a thank you card and specified what they enjoyed the most.
United Way Breakfast -- Ron Bobowski, reported that the event was a success and our NOLC table was full.
Labour Day 2014 Picnic -- an overwhelming success. Thank you to the organizing committee for this terrific event. This was our 1st annual and with the help of many hands we will hold a 2nd annual. Bertram Creek Park was a very scenic and beautiful location where over 200 people attended. The BBQ was a success that all of the food was used and nothing went to waste. Thank you to the BBQers who stood there from noon until about 4:30 pm. The children's activities with the Bouncy Castle, face painters, animal balloon makers and a painting project had the children lining up all day to participate. The weather was perfect and all attending enjoyed visiting and picnicking.
BCFED 56th Convention 2014 -- November 24-28, 2014 -- 3 delegates will be sent by NOLC. A decision regarding who will be attending will be made by the October 8, 2014 meeting which is being held in Vernon.
