Households to receive mid-term review documenting two years under the Campbell Liberals

May 25, 2003

North Okanagan Labour Council President David Doran says eight-page newspaper details how working families are worse off under the Campbell government.

When Gordon Campbell took office two years ago, he promised hope and prosperity. But after two years of broken promises, Campbell is failing miserably and it's the rest of us who are paying the price, said North Okanagan Labour Council President David Doran.

"To mark the second anniversary of the B.C. Liberals' election, we are working with the B.C. Federation of Labour to distribute copies of an eight-page newspaper in our region," Doran added.

"The publication documents the Campbell Liberals' agenda on everything from health care and education to jobs, the economy and privatization. On every front, the B.C. Liberals are failing miserably," said Doran. "Unemployment is up, wait lists are growing, their tax giveaways are a bust, critical Crown Corporations like B.C. Rail and B.C. Hydro are on the auction block and valuable public services are deteriorating," he noted.

"These are not indicators of success. They are another reminder that this government is on the wrong track and B.C. is worse off as a result," Doran added.

Delivery of the newspaper begins by mail this week. It will reach a quarter of a million households across the province.
