REPORTS OF LOCAL UNIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS, CLC REPORT
Dave Porteous -- Union Label is having manpower problems. Union Label is mostly active in the lower mainland

Carol Kenzie HEU - New construction on Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals. 3P partnerships are for building as well as maintenance. 250 maintenance staff are under threat again. Successful bidder is a British consortium. Final decision will be made in September. Letter has been sent to Murray Ramsden CEO of Interior Health. Flyers re: this issue left with the NOLC. HEU starting political action group again.

Carole Gordon, COTA -- Starting to get active politically for the election. Holding a province wide "Stand for Housing". When School District 23 passed the budget, social justice conferences were expected to be cut. Trustees voted to cut down. Watch for large class sizes in SD 23 because of higher enrollment.

Ron Bobowski, CUPW -- CUPW is trying to advocate for Canada Post subcontractors.

Orion Irvine, CLC -- Municipal elections forum June 9th. For potential candidates, incumbents and other interested parties.

GOOD AND WELFARE
a) NDP Caucus will be meeting in Kelowna in June.
b) 24th of May -- Kelowna NDP will be doing Community Organizing. Contact Karen Abramsen if you would like to be involved.
c) NOLC to write letter to the editor congratulating floating bridge construction workers on a job well done for being 2 months ahead of schedule and under budget.
