Wes Kmet -- BCFORUM, Organizer OccupyKelowna --
The Occupykelowna group wants to raise awareness in our valley and initiate change. We want to educate, empower and work towards more financial and social equality. We meet every Saturday under our tent in Kerry Park downtown Kelowna and have: a speaker's corner, sign wave, readings, poetry and music. OccupyKelowna has done two major sign waves at the Hwy 97 overpass by the Parkinson Recreation Centre and other locations around Kelowna. We occupied our MP, Ron Cannan’s office as well as Kelowna City Hall. We hold regular weekly meetings and we are doing a youth/senior project as well as we are helping Metro Central with the Kelowna Gospel Christmas dinner. We are just getting organized and have many future exciting plans. We would like to encourage everyone to join us on Saturdays, support us financially or get involved in the many things that we do. Come out for an hour or two on Saturdays. Learn more on our website; occupykelowna.org and consider joining our email list at email@example.com
