LOCAL UNIONS REPORTS:

COPE 378 submitted report:
COPE 378 members working at the BCGEU ratified a new collective agreement, which includes 2.5 per cent wage increases over three years plus the Economic Stability Dividend.
Our newly-organized members at the Burnaby English Language Centre have struck a bargaining committee, which has met to prepare proposals and will begin bargaining with the employer in early April.
Capilano University – Bargaining is underway but we have been frustrated with delays by the employer. The FPSE at CapU has taken a strike vote and if they take job action, this may affect our members.
ICBC -- COPE 378 reached a tentative agreement for our nearly 4,000 members at ICBC. The agreement includes wage increases of 6 per cent over five years plus the Economic Stability Dividend. Ratification ballots will be counted on March 23.
Early in March, COPE 378 members at Master Trade Union office ratified a new master collective agreement.
Membership:
COPE 378 members at Southern Rail in New Westminster are on the picket lines in solidarity with members of CUPE 7000, who have been locked out since New Year's Eve.
COPE 378 is partnering with CUPE BC and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 134 to release a series of videos sharing commuters' stories in support of the transit plebiscite.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
NOLC Summer Camp contest -- Ronn Dunn -- Reminder that entries are needed for the annual camp draw.
Gert Beadle Award won by Carole Gordon, NOLC delegate -- The NOLC congratulates Carole for winning the Gert Beadle award 2015. She is very well deserving of this award.
Fight for $15.00 - Elizabeth Zlot, COPE 378 -- gave a report/
BCGEU "Brothers on the line" film -- Helen Repole spoke about the upcoming film showing. Please join us on May 27, 2015 at the BCGEU offices at 1064 Borden Ave Kelowna. 7:00 pm -- no charge.
Day of Mourning Tuesday, April 28, 2015 -- Karen Abramsen, UFCW 1518 -- Ben Lee Park noon sharp.

NEW BUSINESS: HEU Health Accord -- outsourcing laundry -- Ken Robinson, HEU -- Petitions are circulating to be presented to BC Legislature, presentation will be made to Kelowna City Council as well.
United Way Representative for NOLC -- Carole Gordon is stepping down as the Labour Council delegate on the United Way Board of Directors. If anyone is interested in taking the Labour seat, please contact Andrew Pritchard at 250 826 4719.
