Wendy Holm, author and agricultural economist, is visiting Kelowna to discuss the negative impacts of the Site C Dam and what communities can do to stop it. Holm and 14 other experts have sounded the alarm in a new book, Damming the Peace: The Hidden Costs of the Site C Dam.
She’ll be speaking Wednesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at 702 Bernard Ave. (French Cultural Centre) in an event sponsored by the Council of Canadians. Admission free or by donation.
Royalties from book sales will be donated to the Nun Wa Dee Stewardship Society through the Yellow Stakes campaign to support the Prophet River and West Moberly First Nations in their legal challenge of the project.
